Ravenhill’s *Baggins Gets MC Player of the Week

Forerunner *Baggins must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .379 pace, then the Ravenhill first baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.

Asked what his hitting philosophy was, *Baggins quipped to the BNN reporters, “Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it.”

It was a good week’s work for *Baggins. He hit .379 average (11-for-29) with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs.

This year *Baggins is hitting .373 with 15 home runs.

Silvermaster Wins MC Player of the Week

The Mordor Conference presented its Player of the Week Award to Ravenhill Darkwings third baseman Fusil Silvermaster.

“His numbers speak for themselves,” a club publicist said. “He’s been really seeing the ball well.”

Indeed, Silvermaster has. Last week he went 11 for 29, batted .379 with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.

Batting .237 to date, Silvermaster has 6 home runs and 15 RBIs.

Ravenhill’s *Baggins Snags April Batting Title

Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 30-year-old Forerunner *Baggins put together a solid offensive month for Ravenhill and was crowned April’s top batter in the Mordor Conference.

He batted .382 with 11 home runs, 17 RBIs and 28 runs scored.

MC Player of the Week Named

Forerunner *Baggins of the Darkwings relied on a sharp eye and a quick bat to outpace all other Mordor Conference hitters last week and collect the Player of the Week Award.

He hit .500 with 10 hits in 20 at-bats, 4 home runs and 5 RBIs.

Ravenhill’s Rödinger Shuts Out Devils

Ravenhill hurler Zoello Rödinger put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Dunharrow Devils with a 5-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 1 hit with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks to pick up the win.

“I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball,” Dunharrow manager Tika Dap told reporters after the game.

Delmonte’s Season Could be Over

The Ravenhill Darkwings were dealt a blow today when starting pitcher Isabelle Delmonte left the game with an undisclosed injury. The team has now revealed that Delmonte has suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and will most likely miss the rest of the season as a result of the injury.

Forerunner *Baggins Picked MC’s Best Hitter

It’s been a year of triumph for veteran Forerunner *Baggins of the Ravenhill Darkwings as he hit his way to the 2038 Mordor Conference Sam Gamgee Batter.

The 29-year-old veteran compiled a .346 average and .465 on-base percentage by putting together 202 hits, 9 doubles, 1 triple, 59 home runs and 129 walks. He also scored 138 times and drove in 130 runs.

Issth Foriand of the Misty Mountain Hops finished second in voting, while Baztrak the Vague of the Weathertop Witch Kings finished third.

Grey Havens Sweeps into the Fellowship Series

The Grey Havens Stars made it look easy and are heading to the Fellowship Series.

They have ousted the Ravenhill Darkwings in a sweep, the final win coming by a 9-0 score, clinching the 2-0 series win.

“Everything’s clicking for us right now,” said Raven Eloldor, who was named MVP for the series.

Eloldor hit .500 with a .500 on-base percentage. He added 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Grey Havens Stars will play against the Weathertop Witch Kings in the next round. Weathertop had a bye in the Hobbit Series. The Fellowship Series schedule will be announced after the Hobbit Series finishes.

Hobbit Series Game 1 Victory for Pennypacker and Grey Havens

The Grey Havens Stars snatched Game 1 of the Hobbit Series from the visiting Ravenhill Darkwings by the final score of 4-0 at Grey Havens Field today. Grey Havens right-hander went 7 innings and was named player of the game in the win. The Darkwings now face a precarious 0-1 deficit in the short, best-of-3 series.

Pennypacker delivered a quality start for Grey Havens. The 6′ 0″ right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7 innings of work.

“Not too many highlights on our side,” said losing manager Dwalin Rockanvil.

The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 8th, 2038 at The Ballpark at Helms Deep. Slated to start are Cemal Agrela for the Grey Havens Stars and Eillf Rymer for the the Ravenhill Darkwings.

Ravenhill Captures Wild Card

It wasn’t quick or easy for the Ravenhill Darkwings, but they have clinched a berth in the postseason.

While they couldn’t capture the Mordor Conference Goblin Division crown, the club has cinched up a wild card berth late in the season.

“You come close to not getting a chance in the postseason and it starts to worry you,” said first baseman Forerunner *Baggins. “This is a huge relief for our guys and we’re going to celebrate it.”

The team will be looking for its 3rd Tolkien Baseball championship.
