Argyll Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games

Win or lose, Giacomino Argyll just keeps on getting base hits — game after game after game. He picked up 3 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.

The Rivendell Royals second baseman went 3-for-5 today, but it wasn’t enough to win the game. His club was defeated 10-6 by the Minas Tirith Titans at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field.

“It’s amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don’t think anybody’s really mentioning it,” one of his teammates said. “We just don’t want to jinx him.”
Giacomino Argyll doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th.

Thus far this season Argyll has hit .447 with no home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 8 times.

Rivendell’s Ithruen Sidelined for Season

A blow for Amaranthae Ithruen today — team doctors confirmed he will miss 9 months with a broken bone in the elbow. Ithruen suffered the injury colliding with a player at a base. Although officials from the Rivendell Royals are confident he’ll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Ithruen’s ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.

This year Ithruen is batting .394 with 2 home runs.

Star 2B Signs Pact with Royals

A contract extension between Giacomino Argyll and Rivendell was reached earlier today.

Argyll will continue to play for the Royals and will pocket $9,500,000 over the next 2 years. The Royals said the extension “shows our level of confidence in him and in the type of player and person he is.”

His lifetime stats show that Argyll has hit .306 and connected for 3 home runs.

Rivendell Trades Cust for WeMadeIt’s Badgers

Today at a press conference the Rivendell Royals announced a trade has been completed with the WeMadeIt Crashlanders. The Royals have shipped 27-year-old SS Everton Cust to the Crashlanders for 23-year-old minor league RHP Smubdush Badgers.

Cust boasts a career batting average of .253 with 441 hits, 32 homers and 147 RBIs.

Bucklebury Sweeps into the Fellowship Series

The Bucklebury Fairies had all facets of their game going and have swept the Rivendell Royals in the Hobbit Series.

Bucklebury now heads off to the Fellowship Series, after wrapping up the series with a 9-8 win.

Justin Bats was named MVP, as he put up a .625 batting average, with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Bucklebury Fairies will play against the Mirkwood Sylvan in the next round. Mirkwood had a bye in the Hobbit Series. The Fellowship Series schedule will be announced after the Hobbit Series finishes.

Royals Clinch Playoff Spot With Victory

Today, Rivendell have officially claimed a spot in this year’s postseason. The team punched their playoff ticket with a win yesterday. “I couldn’t be prouder of this team,” said skipper, Marcos Easyheart. “These guys worked their tails off all season long, so they’ve definitely earned this.” However, the Royals manager says he won’t let his team rest on their laurels. “We’ve still got a long way to go to reach our ultimate goal and that’s a championship trophy. So we’re gonna celebrate and just let this all sink in tonight, but it’s back to work tomorrow.”

Royals Shushud Gone for Year

The Rivendell Royals were dealt a blow today when starting pitcher Caradas Shushud left the game with an undisclosed injury. The team has now revealed that Shushud has suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will most likely miss the rest of the season as a result of the injury.

This season Shushud has compiled a 15-4 mark with a 3.02 ERA.

Ginyc Maker Lost for Season

Ginyc Maker has to call it a season. The Rivendell Royals right fielder sustained a season-ending injury against the Minas Ithil Wyrms and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Maker was injured while making a defensive play. His doctors diagnosed it as torn ankle ligaments and stated that he would not be able to play for 4 months.

Maker is batting at a .332 pace this season, picking up 136 hits in 410 at-bats with 17 home runs, 76 RBIs and 74 runs scored.

Rivendell Left Fielder SC’s Best Batter in July

Ullla Nunduil of the Rivendell Royals stood out at the plate during July. The 26-year-old left fielder manhandled Shire Conference pitchers by batting .355 and was selected the Batter of the Month.

Nunduil collected 38 hits with 15 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 23 times.

To date this year Nunduil is batting .295 with 41 home runs.

Rivendell’s Argyll to Miss Season

Giacomino Argyll of the Royals just might have to call it quits for the season. The 24-year-old Rivendell second baseman received a possible season-ending injury against the Dunharrow Devils recently at Royals Stadium. Argyll suffered a ruptured medial collateral ligament while running the bases. The Royals medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 9 months.

This season Argyll is batting .311 with 33 RBIs, 53 runs scored and 1 home run.
