West Virginia

West Virginia - "The Mountain State"

Joy: "West Virginia - Breathtaking scenery, great skiing, white water rafting, one of the last wild rivers in North America. One the best resorts in the world (The Greenbrier). Pure, sweet water, a low crime rate, low cost of living and friendly residents."

I've always said that if God lived anywhere, it was in West Virginia. My contribution for WV is my alma mater, West Virginia Wesleyan College, with one of the finest professors of Christian Education on the planet, Dr. Marvin Carr. What makes the program unique and special is it's devoted to rural Appalachian ministry. Dr. Carr has devoted his life to training ministers in the ways of cooperative parish ministry and community building, as well as preserving Appalachian culture and history through oral histories.

Add in Audra State Park, Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, Holly River State Park, and the WVU Marching Band, and I'd call WV a keeper.

God went there. He called himself Robert Byrd, and you suckwits kept electing the piece of shit in election after election.

Living just a few blocks from the aforementioned wild river is a start. A 3ft. wide brook that still holds brilliantly colored native trout ( no I ain't telling the Acidman where it is) is 45 min. away. And, if he is an idiot, Bob Byrd is a usefull idiot, Byrd Clinic, Byrd Medical Center, Byrd Highway etc.

The thing I like most about West Virginia is West Virginians. They maye not be the most ssophisticated lot in the world, but they mean well and they try to what is right- and get this, they honestly care about their neighbors.

I was born and raised here, so I might be a touch biased.

Where doy ou other folks live?

And Acidman- this is a true story. Last night my mother called me and said "Do you want to be embarassed to be a West Virginian?"

Without missing a beat I replied: "Oh, no. Is Byrd on tv again?"

She replied, "Yeap. Larry King."

So don't lecture me about him- how bout you work on explaining Jimmy Carter or Cynthia McKinney (you are Georgian, right?).
