His status grew today as the ace pitcher was named the winner of the 2050 SGCBL Draft League Most Valuable Player.<\/p>\n
“I just want to pitch well and win games,” he said. “The awards are nice though.”<\/p>\n
Escas\u00e1n’s award-winning tournament saw him put up a 3-1 record through 7 starts, throwing 40 innings. He had 41 strikeouts with 9 walks and a 0.68 ERA. Opponents hit only .159 against him.<\/p>\n
He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 6. Moli Stonemould of the Michel Delving Highlanders finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Muerlara Ost-Darroth of the Gondor Kings finished third.<\/p>\n
