Pelham, Disaster Take Dramatic Game 1 for 1-0 Series Lead
The Dagorlad Disaster combined strong pitching and timely hitting to take Game 1 of the Hobbit Series, 3-1, in a walk-off win over the Numenor Kings.

The Disaster got a solid performance from starter Mimosa Pelham. The right-handed Pelham threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Disaster a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-3 series.

Dagorlad got a clutch hit from Romochka Carnicas. The shortstop launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

Kings manager Vugnar Mithrilhammer did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Return of the King Series."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 5th , 2052 at Capital One Stadium.
