Minas Ithil got a terrific performance from pitcher Todo Gilmore, but it wasn't enough to beat the Old Forest Merry Fellows. Old Forest won the Silmarillion Cellular Field contest, 2-1. Gilmore threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Betsie Gamwich recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 42 for 47. Old Forest improves to 93-59 with the win. They lead their division by 20 games.

Soderman Elvythien, who leads the SC in hits with 179, had a direct impact on the outcome. Elvythien contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Old Forest up, 2-1.

"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Elvythien said.
