The Lake Town Archers withstood a fine game by Bywater third baseman Ferdinand *Puttifoot at The Water Park, to upend the Bounders, 4-3. *Puttifoot was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. The win was credited to Kazimierz Atanesian in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Darrick Hafer took the loss. Lake Town goes to 75-79, Bywater to 81-73.
Had Camelia Fieldtender not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Fieldtender hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Archers.
"This was a good win," said Fieldtender.
