The Old Forest Merry Fellows trumped the Minas Tirith Titans, 9-8, at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field. Old Forest first baseman Tugbu the Squasher was terrific. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Yosai Graber recorded his 32nd save for Old Forest. The first-place Merry Fellows, at 91-70, lead the Shire Conference Elf Division by 9 games.

In the top of the seventh, the Merry Fellows grabbed the lead when the Squasher hit his 31st home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Tso-i Throatslobber made it 8-7, Old Forest.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Minas Tirith manager Cedrick Elesserio. "The effort was great."
