Junnosuke Koen, who is tied for 8th in the SC in strikeouts with 62, imposed his will on the Sylvan from the get-go. Relying mainly on his slider, the right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 Old Forest triumph. Thrudrub the Crazy Bastard sewed up the save, his 1st. Old Forest is now 24-23, 2 games up in the Shire Conference Elf Division.

Burlug the Odiferous came through for Old Forest when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike curveball to right field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.

"All my pitches were working," said Koen. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."
