Bree-Land Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Erebor Eagles and Bree Cheese.
In a low-scoring affair between the Bree Cheese and the Erebor Eagles, pitcher Balik Karsson was the difference between victory and defeat. The Bree right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Cheese win. Karsson yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 3-4. Picking up his 8th save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Zelphar Melruth.
Making an impact for Bree was right fielder Tariyel Alston. He drilled a double off Eric Crystalembers in the bottom of the third. For the game, Alston was 1 for 3 with a double.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Lumja Grelf.
