The 9-6 Old Forest win over Mirkwood was due largely to Burlug the Odiferous. The Merry Fellows third baseman slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. The Merry Fellows, now 31-24, have won 5 in a row.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when the Odiferous hit a grand slam home run off Drong Damil. It propelled the Merry Fellows into the lead, 6-2.

In postgame comments to the Old Forest Daily News, the Odiferous said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
