Merry Fellows Deal Hops 3-2 Defeat
The Old Forest Merry Fellows eked out a 3-2 win versus the Misty Mountain Hops at Gap of Rohan Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Xu-gang Sharmistha. He was terrific. Sharmistha, now 8-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The first-place Merry Fellows now have a win-loss record of 35-28.

Old Forest used the hitting of Alrond *Hubbard, Jr. to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Merry Fellows on top, 2-0. For the game, *Hubbard, Jr. had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Sharmistha.
