Wyrms Rack Up 3-0 Win Versus Moria
|
The Minas Ithil Wyrms went home winners at Silmarillion Cellular Field, thanks in large part to starter Linda Grundy. Grundy stifled the Moria Miners, enabling Minas Ithil to grab the 3-0 win. Grundy got the win, improving to 3-9. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Dubpug Malona was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 20 save opportunities.
Genya Kemble had a big 2-run double for the Wyrms in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Minas Ithil leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 34-year old right-handed pitcher Voirin Tibus and swatted a double to right. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wyrms ahead, 3-0.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Kemble said.
Today's win puts Minas Ithil at 48-35, while Moria falls to 34-48.
