Rivendell Beats Mirkwood as Sowell Throws 6-0 Shutout Friday, September 13th , 2052 Gaetano Sowell kept the Mirkwood Sylvan hitters from doing much damage at Woodland Field. Mirkwood could only muster 2 hits and draw 2 walks against the left-handed Sowell, who controlled them throughout the game. Rivendell won the contest, 6-0. Sowell added 3 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Sowell told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." For the season, Sowell has logged 14 wins and 8 losses and struck out 168 batters in 193.2 innings while compiling a 2.97 ERA.
