Mordor Conference Defeats Shire Conference 5-3 in Tight All-Star Game

Tuesday, July 14th, 2037
During the star-studded affair, the 2037 Mordor Conference All-Stars defeated the Shire Conference All-Stars by a score of 5-3 in 10 innings.

The fans in attendance at Orthanc Stadium certainly enjoyed the show, seeing the best that the game had to offer.

Chief among the stars was Pansy Dogwood of the Numenor Kings, who led the Mordor Conference to victory with a walk off 2-run HR.

“I will admit I was nervous out there. To share a field with such incredible players is always a humbling experience. But after the first couple pitches, you just have to ignore the talent out there and focus on your game,” Dogwood commented as he accepted his award after the game.

The MC squad started scoring in the bottom of the 1st when Bofur Ogrestomper scored on a sac fly by the hometown crowd’s own Ragnar *Stonecutter III. They made it 2-0 in the 5th with a bases loaded walk to Marin Goldtearer scored Norman *Xanatos.

In the top of the 7th, the Shire would get on the board with a pinch hit from DeForest *Hamrh, scoring Elegrina Elvarara from 2B.

An RBI triple in the 8th off the bat of Dogwood that drove home Bofur Ogrestomper would make it 3-1 in favor of the home team going into the last inning.

In the top of the 9th, the Shire Conference made their last stand, and it was a miraculous one. After Elvarara walked and Galiamir the Iron Giant singled, Hifur Ogredragger laced a shot to the right side that was speared by 2B Ogrestomper who fired it to 1B, nabbing the Iron Giant for a double play. With all of their bench players used, the next hitter was the pitcher, Skadreg Spleensmasher, facing the league’s leading closer, Francesco McKilligin. McKilligin walked him on four pitches, putting runners at 1st and 2nd with 2 out. The next batter up, Duilin *Silverwolf of Lake Town hit a 2-run double, scoring Elvarara and Spleensmasher. Silverwolf was thrown out at 3B trying to stretch it into a triple, but the score was tied 3-3.

In the bottom of the 10th, facing Rivendell pitcher Gandealas Faldur, Dogwood collected his 2nd and 3rd RBI of the game when he launched a ball down the left field line and into the stands 341 feet away for a walk off 2-run homer to win the game.

The winning pitcher was Dogwood’s teammate, Muumsh Handtrembler. The loser was Faldur.
