Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Burlug the Odiferous, who finished 2nd in the SC in doubles with 47 last year, the Old Forest Merry Fellows defeated the Bywater Bounders, 9-1. Old Forest starter Thrudrub the Crazy Bastard was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Trai the Cow-catcher got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.

Maiele Dracoseir had a big bases-clearing double for the Merry Fellows in the top of the first inning. With Old Forest leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from three-time All-Star Ørjan Mørkved and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Merry Fellows ahead, 5-0.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Dracoseir told the Old Forest Daily News.

The first-place Merry Fellows have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
