He may have less experience than most of his Fantasy World Classic peers, but that didn't slow Munchnik *van Schoonhoven down at all in 2051.
At the age of 22, the Human Lands second baseman has been named the winner of the Fantasy World Classic Most Valuable Player.
He had a .481 batting average and a .576 on-base percentage this year. In 7 games he piled up 13 hits, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the tournament I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Skye *King of the Unknown Lands finished second in voting, while Xandra *Thornflower of the Unknown Lands finished third.

Human Lands Human Lands Capture Fantasy World Championship

Hail to the Human Lands Human Lands, 8-7 winners over the Unknown Lands Unknown Lands, to claim the 2051 Fantasy World Classic championship! The newly-crowned champions celebrated in style, hoisting their trophy while congratulating each other.
"Unknown Lands was a worthy opponent," said Human Lands manager Deneoman Deneothor. "They brought out the best in us."

5-Hit Barrage by *the Masher

No matter what the Hobbit Lands threw at him, Ugak *the Masher hit it. He easily handled Hobbit Lands pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Orc Lands triumph, 16-1, at Vultures Field.
"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of *the Masher's quip, Hobbit Lands skipper Bill Metzinger said he "would take him up on that next time."
Ugak *the Masher singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Betsie Gamwich in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
In his tournament totals *the Masher has 1 home run and a .455 batting average.
