Bunce Voted SL Pitcher of the Year Award

Malva Bunce of the Swanhaven Stars will be adding a new centerpiece to his mantel after being tabbed for the Snaga League Pitcher of the Year Award today.

The 20-year-old hurler started 9 games this season, tallying a 1-0 record. In 40 innings, Bunce gave up 37 hits, struck out 51, walked 17 and held opponents to a .240 average as he posted a fine 2.02 ERA.

He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 24. Bruzguh Stonemasher of the Rivendell Red Foxes finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Trogburz the Straggler of the Isengard 49ers finished third with 2 first place votes.

Westmarch's Middlebrook, Pitcher of the Year Award Winner

Crassus Middlebrook had a marvelous 2052 season. The Westmarch mound mainstay garnered the most votes and has been named the UHL Pitcher of the Year Award honoree.

The Warriors star dominated his opposition, finishing with 6 wins, no losses and a 3.23 ERA. In 12 starts he worked a total of 61.1 innings, striking out 68, while walking 25. Other clubs managed to hit only .243 against him.

He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 24. Ramão Røkke of the Nurn Prairie Thunder finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Thaimli Elvadrielad of the Dol Guldur Friars finished third with 1 first place vote.

Oakenshield Takes Top SL Manager Honors

Club officials have reported seeing Bosur Oakenshield at the ballpark as early as 7 am. His dedication, coupled with a shrewd management style and a knack for knowing "who's hot and who's not" earned Oakenshield the Snaga League Manager of the Year Award for 2052.

"I guess you could say I pushed all the right buttons at the right time for the 49ers to have the season we did. But keep in mind, too, that I also had a group of dedicated ballplayers who played their hearts out. I thank them for winning this award for me."

There was much joy in Isengard this season. Their beloved 49ers took first place in the Snaga League Division 2, rounding out the year with a 56-12 record.
