Madlight Sizzles -- Smokes Prairie Thunder for 5 Hits Thursday, July 28th , 2050 A jubilant Apasyu Madlight joined the postgame press conference at Nurn Grounds to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Nurn Prairie Thunder pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Dale Generals left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 17-6 Generals win. "He made it look easy," said Arghren Gonzalez, manager of the Prairie Thunder. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Apasyu Madlight hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Purushotham Elor in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Vidar Poolslinger in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Nibs Woodenguard in the 7th and walked in the 9th. This season, Madlight is batting .378 with 16 home runs. His totals include 50 RBIs and 41 runs scored. |
