Thrilling Win Sends Lockholes JC to Next Round Monday, May 1st , 2051 The Lockholes JC Bravery celebrated wildly after a 3-2 win over the Combe JC Current in the Round 1. At the center of the celebration was Pandora Greenthumb, who was instrumental in getting his team to the Round 2. "I may get a lot of the credit, but it's a team sport," said the Lockholes JC pitcher. "Getting named MVP is nice, but even if I sucked and we made it to the next round, I would have been happy. That's all that matters at this time of year." Greenthumb threw 5 innings, with 7 strikeouts, while allowing 3 hits, 4 walks and no runs. Combe JC manager Pervinca Fields said it was a "tough blow" for his team, which had aspirations of winning the Junior College Championship this year. The Round 2 matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
