Took Blasts 3 into Bleachers Thursday, March 4th , 2049 His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Ilberic Took swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at California Grounds, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Lockholes JC Bravery were better. The Longbottom JC Train couldn't capitalize on the big game from Took and dropped the contest 21-12. The mood in the Train clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Bravery to spoil the day for Took. "Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Longbottom JC manager Foinus Éthier said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level." In addition to the homers, Took collected 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Longbottom JC third baseman told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3." Ilberic Took flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Yolanda Grub in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Conrad Tussle in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Cornelia Baldender in the 9th. |
