Moria left fielder Sang-your Nuesink went down swinging at Khazad-dum Stadium, knocking out 6 hits even as his Miners fell, 7-6.
“It was like I was hitting Little League pitching,” Nuesink said after his 6-for-7 performance against the Lake Town Archers. “No offense meant to Lake Town, but it was like I was back in little league again — I could see the ball that well.”
After the game, his manager elaborated on the left fielder’s improvements, saying Nuesink spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
“That’s what I’m trying to do,” Nuesink agreed. “Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it.”
Sang-your Nuesink singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ablases Arwamli in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
So far in 2051 Nuesink is batting .192 with 12 home runs, 34 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 41 hits in 213 at-bats and a .270 OBP.
