Inauguration Day

A few of us went to the house of a friend who lives near the office to watch the Inauguration festivities.

While we are all old enough to remain wary of anyone who promises anything in a political speech, you could have heard a pin drop during Obama’s address.

He’s not some angel sent from heaven or a messiah to save us all. But it sure is nice to hear an eloquent leader talk to us like adults.

It’s been a long 8 years.

It’s like the first day I’ve been able to take a deep breath for about 6 years.

Just being able to listen to the President of my country (mine too, wingnuts!) without cringing made me quite happy.

I so agree. I was downtown having lunch with some friends and everyone in the restaurant remained quiet and glued to the tv during his speech. It was very refreshing to hear him.
