Oh, man! I really, really wanted to write about the similarities between this election and the one in 1800 (seriously), but someone beat me to it.
I’m not saying that I suddenly agree with the Republicans and everything’s gonna be just peachy. Far from it. However, it would do everyone well to keep things in perspective when they are making their cases for or agin’ a particular policy. The sky might be falling, but we’ve been hit on the head before and survived with just a little dain bramage.

In any case I am little fuzzy on this history stuff. Was it not in the Jefferson administration that we got into that Shores of Tripoli stuff?
