Blogging! What a concept!

When last we left our hero, he was returning home from a bidness trip. Exhausted, he lay down to sleep for a thousand years. When he awoke, he found the Earth ruled by paranoid apes. He was comforted by the thought that nothing had changed during his absence.

Update time. Sleep is good. But you knew that. Let’s see…what else has been happening…

We attended an awards ceremony for Pepperkat this weekend where she got the Girl Scout Gold Award. It grates on my feminist sensibilities to have to compare it to the Eagle Scout for boys, but there’s a serious lack of PR surrounding the girls’ highest achievement. Heck, even in their own program, the Girl Scouts felt they had to put “it’s like an Eagle Scout” for people to understand the significance. Anyway, we couldn’t be prouder of our little cookie dealer.

What else? Hmm…

Heroes still rocks the sockses of all the foxes. Spider-Man 3…meh, not so much. It wasn’t bad. There was just too much emo and not enough Venom. Topher Grace was great as Eddie Brock, though. And there were some pretty funny moments. Bruce Campbell is still my hero. Bring on Shrek 3!

Um, that’s about it. Not much happening for having a thousand year nap, eh?

I have to say that the snow globe scene was really creepy.

Most highestest and bestest of congratulations for Miss Pepperkat!

I have a young man on the fast-track to Eagle Scout, so I am familiar. And yes, the Girl Scout version needs appropriate (and better) recognition. It is good stuff.

Welcome back to the land of the living. Now make me laugh, chuckle-boy… 🙂

    Congrats to Pepperkat!

And I know what the Gold Award is! We had to explain it the same way when asked what projects Girlscout was working on. We were tracking that way till Volleyball took over Girlscout’s life (I guess she’s no longer a scout huh?!)
