Eh? Speak up, sonny!

I thought that this was a joke…until I tried it myself. Apparently, the new fad is for kids to get ring tones that sound above the level at which adults can hear. I knew there was such a thing as age-related hearing loss, but I figured I was immune or something. So, I went to the Cingular Extras site and tried it.

I could hear the Bug Tone, Stealth-Covert Opps and Stealth-Maximum Security. Other than that, nada. And, yet, both kids were like “Ow! What the hell was that noise?”

i’m happy to report that i can hear all of them but Stealth-Ultra and Stealth-Under Cover, so i’m not too old yet. however, i am a little old, because i would definitely want to smack anyone that had a phone that made that noise.

I heard them all except Stealth-Under Cover. If those sounds are as annoying to kids as they were to me, I can’t imagine them being used very often.

I could hear them all, but man! They annoyed the fricking hell out of me. If someone were dumb enough to use those ringtones around me I think I would have to find them and destroy them! They hurt my head!

I could hear Bug Tone, and Stealth-Covert Opps. Wasn’t so much a sound as a drill in the ear.

Getting old sucks. At least I don’t have to wait to be picked last in gym anymore.
