It Was Thuper!

Yesterday was filled with superhero-ish goodness.

In the morning, Pepperkat showed me a toy she downloaded for The Sims. It’s probably been out for a while, but it’s called The Bat Phone, and it lets your sims call the Hall of Justice to summon one of 16 superhero NPC’s. At one point, she had Robin, Thor, Superman and the Thing standing in the bathroom arguing over who was going to get to brush their teeth first.

More of these goodies (including an “Itchy and Scratchy” projection TV) are at Simslice – Original and Creative Hacked Objects for the Sims. End commercial.

Then, last night we finally went to see Daredevil.

I’m sorry, but the only thing that was wrong with this movie was its timing. If it had come out before X-Men and Spider-Man, it would have been hailed as the best Marvel movie ever. It stuck very close to the storyline. Ben Affleck was fine as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, and Jennifer Garner was not a bad Electra. Colin Farrell made an excellent Bullseye, and the rest of the cast – especially Jon Favreau as Foggy Nelson – were great. I did have a bit of a problem with Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin, because he didn’t seem quite overwhelming enough to me, but not enough to ruin the movie.

Almost as good as the movie, were the previews for The Hulk, X-Men 2 and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

The Hulk I’m not too sure about. Pepperkat said he reminded her too much of Shrek. It’s got Ang Lee directing, so I’m holding out some hope that it will be good.

X-Men looks to be bringing on a full-scale mutant war, God bless ’em. I can hardly wait for May.

Meanwhile, the LXG is even more exciting. I love it when a little-known (outside comic fan circles) title gets made into a movie. And with Sean Connery as Allan Quartermain… This one I have to see.

Now, where’d I put my copy of Freedom Force

When I have some time to play Sims again, I HAVE to try that Bat Phone thing! That’s awesome!

Odd, I seem to remember someone else saying similar things about that movie… GRIN
As usual, I agree with you completely on Daredevil. A lot of fun, especially for anyone who read the comics, back in the day…
I, too, am looking forward to X-2. I might even go and pay full theater prcie, instead of waiting for it to go to “the cheapies”!

Your e-mail was the whole reason we went to see it last night. I agree completely. It wasn’t perfect, but I’d see it again.

Isn’t it Shreik or Shriek, I thought there was an “i” in it somewhere. Maybe not, I don’t know…

Went to Daredevil a few weeks ago. I loved it, but then I’ve been a fan of Daredevil for years. I agree on the timing thing. and that I can’t wait for X-2 It looks amazing!

    Every time I think I don’t need the Sims…

I can’t play Sims. I tried once. I got addicted and stressed and my people were having difficulties with their jobs and not getting enough sleep and it was too too much anxiety. But then I read this over at Solonor’s: “In the morning, Pepperkat showed …

    I won’t see DD on principle. 😉

Sims is too addictive. I’m hooked. Thanks for helping my addiction along (is Pepperkat getting the next expansion pack? Ugh…)

You MUST see The Hulk. It’s got Eric Banna in it. He was in Black Hawk Down. He’s COOL. He was also in Chopper, but I don’t know if that ever made it out your way… it’s a great film if you don’t mind the gruesome bits. He’s a local hero here.
