Garden of Angels is an organization formed by Debi Faris to give some dignity to newborns abandoned in dumpsters and on the side of the road. They claim these babies, name them, and give them a proper, legal burial.
More than that, they have worked to get states to pass laws like California’s “Safe Arms for Newborns,” where a young mother has the right to leave her baby at any hospital emergency room or other designated spot without fear of prosecution. The baby will be properly cared for and placed in a foster home, and the mother has 14-days to change her mind.
