Awash in a sea of talent

In case you didn’t know it, my friend Kane the Brain is a most excellent cook and writer. He has just posted the first of his new series of cooking videos in the hope of dethroning Alton Brown as reigning food geek. While I don’t think that’s going to happen immediately, this is one fine homespun TV production. (I especially love the gadget cat segment.)

I seriously have the most talented internet buddies ever.

They are doctors and nurses, artists and newspaper columnists, artistic entrepreneurs and authors, singers and actors.

And that doesn’t even count all you uber geeks and knitting freaks!

Hey, are you implying that knitting is not as important as say, being a doctor? Knitting saves lives too, you know! In, um, different, more woolen ways than modern medicine. It totally prevents frostbite.

  2. Solonor says:

Heavens, no! Knitting is the bedrock of America (sorry… ‘murricuh). Why, without knitting, we might never have defeated the Germans after they bombed Pearl Harbor!!

This is just the latest installment in an ongoing series of suck-up posts to ensure that I have an outside chance of leeching off the fame and (I hope) fortune of others. This has less to do with what I see as valuable to society and more with what I see as valuable to me (i.e., money).

You’ve got some talent there yourself, mister. Now hurry up and promote your music to the world so that we may piggyback onto your fame and success. Boris needs to be in a rock video.
