Good morning, citizens. Tune your Bat Radios to Solonor’s Aortal Site of the Week: bigSimon. Our intrepid hero has gotten wind of a new reality show concept that just might work. Yes, it’s Who Wants To Be A Superhero?
Celebrity judges, like Adam West, will judge the pitches of wannabe Batmen and Wonder Women. Then, the finalists will get a “superhero makeover” – putting on their proposed costumes and competing in hero-ish acts.
No, this is not just a strange idea. It’s penciled into the WB schedule for next season.
Thank you, Simon. There is hope for reality TV (and all mankind), after all.
I’m really hoping to get a friend of mine interested in trying out for that one. He’s been making up superheroes as long as I’ve known him.
Then again, it could be a neurosis due to being picked on in school and dissatisfaction with his own reality. Maybe he needs that kind of tough-guy fantasy to validate him…
Or it could just be that he’s both a talented artist and a talented actor.
I was writing a comment for this here, but it got a little long so I moved it to my site instead.
Thanks for the inspiration.
When I was but a young lad I lived a few of my years in a little Minnesota town on a big lake (well, not really on the lake, but on its shore and nearby) — and the town was named Excelsior.
So when I first glimpsed your post I had this sudden rush of early childhood revisited anticipation. Needless to say I was immediately relieved of the risk of any such joy by reading your post. Just another reinforcement of what life is all about.
Thanks.
Glad I was able to snatch depression from the jaws of joy!
If I could be a superhero I would be Vengeance Girl. (But, only if Stephen Lynch sang my theme song)
