First Annual Groovy Grove Awards

The votes are in! It’s time to announce the winners of the First Annual Solonor’s Groovy Grove of Mystical Wonders Awards for Excellence in Blogging™

I must say that the competition in every category was extremely close. And while we are presenting these awards to certain individuals based on an extremely complex formula stolen donated by NASA scientists (whom we do not have tied up in the back bedroom), there are no winners and losers. I congratulate all of those who didn’t make the cut and just weren’t good enough to get an award. Good job and better luck next year.

Also, please disregard the previous post. The outcome of the voting is purely coincidental.

Best Blog Using The Word ‘Mighty’ In Its Title
This one was darn close. Only a point or two different and it might have been Buzzstuff, but in the end the winner is The Mighty Geek.

Best ‘Mommy’ Blog
Again, a tough decision. Busy Mom gave it a good shot, but how could anyone argue with the eventual winner: The Mighty Geek

Best Blogging Brain
You would think that ‘Brain’ at Brain Kane Online would win this one, wouldn’t you? But he came in a distant second to The Mighty Geek.

Cutest Unemployed Canadian
It’s a tie! By virtue of a coin flip, Geekward Ho lost, er, didn’t win against The Mighty Geek.

Best Blog By A Girl Named Ju
Only The Mighty Geek had the stuff to beat JadedJu.

Best Winner of the Next to Last Category Because I’m Tired of Thinking Up Dumb Categories
This would have gone to Linkmeister if he’d been in competition for the “Best Hawaiian Blog,” but he wasn’t, so the winner is The Mighty Geek.

Finally, our most coveted award…

Best Blogger Who Sometimes Reads My Blog
Out of the literally half dozen possible nominees, it came down to A Small Victory, Ship of Fools and Pickle Juice. After crunching the numbers for the last 14 hours, we have determined that the winner is: The Mighty Geek! Congratulations, Geekman!!!!

I lost out to a geek. Which, I suppose, is better than losing to a nerd.

Hey, wait a minute! Something looks really fishy here….just can’t put my finger on it….

  2. Solonor says:

I don’t know what you could be implying. Sore loser.

  4. BrIAn says:

Ah, see you have me in the wrong category.

I should have been in the “Best Blogging BrIAn” category.

  5. Busy Mom says:

It’s just an honor to be nominated! I have something to aspire to, now.

  6. Bill says:

    Oh, Solly!
    *flees from room, sobbing bitterly*

  7. jadedju says:

I’m smiling on the outside, and weeping on the inside. It’s an honor just to be nominated blahblahblahblah. ( I’d have the Supreme Court look into this, but I don’t get the sense that they care. And I’d thank God, my agent, and the lawyers, but they don’t seem to care either.)

  8. bran says:

    i’m such a whore.

a filthy, dirty whore who is beyond ECSTATIC to be nominated. why? the link. media attention. if my blog were a celebrity with a really fat ass, i’d totally be J-Lo. (anything for the camera, baybee…) which works, totally, cos my blog really does have a fat ass. (much like i do.) and now, because of the droves of traffic visiting from your link, your link O Sol o’ Mine, i will finally reach the level of superstardom that relieves me of nominating myself in all the bloggy awards (which i’ve been doing, but woo! now i can quit that shit and move on with my life…) because i’ll be so freakin famous, and so like, star glamourous, that none will dare NOT nominate me. yanno? they’ll all be like, “We vote for bran cos’ we got street cred. We got our ears to the street. this is what the REAL kids listen to…” like, i’m so underground and hip. FO REAL.

    …my come-uppance has finally arrived.

  9. Linkmeister says:

Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono.

The life (sovereignty) of the land is perpetuated in (by) righteousness.

There. Posting the state motto ought to give me more cred for next year’s award.

  10. Buzz says:

I guess it was a foregone conclusion that I would fall short of “the geek”, but I would be lying, both to you and myself, if I said I wasn’t a little dissapointed. And I flew my folks in special, too. Oh well, maybe next year.
