Sol, contact the Best Friends Animal Society and see if they can’t help you to find a foster home for the cat.
They were called in by a dog friendly neighbor recently when a man died leaving behind three old dogs that were in good health. Our local shelter, unfortunately NOT a no-kill shelter, were just going to put the dogs down. Best Friends came in, took the dogs and now one is adopted and the other two are in foster homes awaiting adoption.
People really do suck. The cat was probably dumped because of the FIV.
Damn, wish there was something we could do up here.
I don’t suppose there’s any chance the kitty is just lost? I hate to assume that a wandering, declawed kitty doesn’t have a home somewhere. *sigh* I wish I could help. My kitty’s mother was a (pregnant) rescue cat with FIV.
