David Tennant has made it official. He will not be returning as Doctor Who after the 2009 specials.
Bummer. I think he was my favorite Doctor after Tom Baker (because everyone knows your first Doctor is your favorite). It helped that the new series has actual money to spend on real production values, but Tennant was able to meld the flavor of each of his nine predecessors into his performance (ok, maybe not McGann so much). And eventually he brought his own style to the role, especially in one of my favorite episodes: Human Nature / Family of Blood
