Get mama’s pryin’ bar! We’re goin’ to the moovies!

Someone told me there was a new sequel to that movie I saw a while back. Ya know, the one with the lizard boy? I think his name was “Golldamn” or somethin’? I’m not too good with names.

Anyway, since the wife kinda likes it and it don’t look like there’s nobody else gonna be going to something silly like that, I thought it might be a good time for me and the missus and young ‘uns to get some quiet family time together. So, I used that Internet thingy they put on my Wal-Mart PC to order us up some tickets for Friday night. And since I heard it’s a short one, I made it for 10:30 pm.

I just hope it ain’t got any of them pretty boy elfs in it. Can’t stand them pointy-eared freaks.

And my right hip don’t feel too good neither…

Crap. Look like it’s back to typing one-handed for me.

Went to the office Christmas party last night, which inexplicably included a bowling component. I started out with a ball that was too heavy and sprained the ring finger on my left hand. Yes, the same left hand that I fried in the infamous tea-brewing incident that saw my brain get its pink slip. So, for the second time in less than a week, I’ve been pecking away at the keyboard with my right hand while my left is plunged into a bowl of ice.

Headed into the height of the Christmas holiday, I am left single-handedly brainless.

So, I guess there’s nothing new to report today after all.

You Ain’t Got No Camera

When my brother was in Seattle, he saw this Cingular ad for their photo phones. Too funny.

Eek! Sauron’s Coming! Run Away!!

Here’s an amusing anecdote from the production of Return of the King. Apparently, when they created the new computer program to individually animate thousands of combatants in the final battle, they had trouble making the little soldiers stupid enough to keep fighting.

These Are The Days…

Man, it don’t get no better than this. In spite of the downpour today (or perhaps because of), it’s turned out to be one, nice Sunday.

We sang our Christmas cantata in church today, and we made it through alive. Somebody said, “Well, I didn’t see anybody get up and leave!” To which I replied, “They just didn’t want to go back out into the rain.” Seriously, it wasn’t that bad, considering we’re a group of about 20 volunteers trying to muddle through Buxtehude on about 10 total hours of practice.

The rest of the day has been devoted to our own pursuits. Yet, somehow, it feels very family-ish buttoned up in our home. Whiny’s spent the afternoon watching the History Channel. Pepperkat’s catching up with her friends on IM. I blasted Nazis and other scum (i.e., Sgt. Grump) in MOHAA. And Mrs. R is spending the afternoon baking cookies (which are completely off the diet, but so the hell what?). The smells coming from the kitchen just add to the Christmas-y feel.

Lazy, rainy Sundays rule.

City Sidewalks, Busy Sidewalks

Well, we survived. In fact, we had a pretty good time. I kept the embarassment factor to a minimum, and the crowds weren’t all that bad. Now we’re going to settle in and watch A Muppet Family Christmas, which I almost bought before being reminded that they got that for me as a present last Christmas.

Pepperkat took her camera along to document the festivities.
