    The defendant gave co-writing credit to Cage. It only makes sense that Cage’s estate receive half of the royalties. Next time, he should be more careful about adding credits to his own compositions (if you can call silence a composition).

    Grump came up with a good point. I wonder if John Denver or Tom Paxton ever got sued for Paxton’s “The Ballad of Spiro Agnew” which consisted of “I’ll sing you a song of Spiro Agnew and all the things he’s done…” followed by 30 seconds of silence?

    Of course, as wKen points out, Paxton wasn’t stupid enough to give half credit to Cage, like Batt did….duh….
