Slowest. Storm. Ever.

The early bands of it finally hit us a minute ago, dumping buckets of water on us. Not that I wish for a hurricane, but if it’s gonna hit us, let’s get it over with! Even if everything weren’t closed, there is a “keep off the roads” order in effect at noon. It looks like it’s a weekend of TV watching until the power goes bye-bye for good.

The power has already gone out once. So, I think I’m going to turn off the PC to save it from getting fried. Ta, dahlinks.

Update: I jumped the gun. I guess that was just an extreme outer band. The rest of the thing is hours and hours and hours and hours away. I don’t think I can take that much time away from the computer while there’s contstant coverage of wind-whipped reporters telling us there’s a hurricane a-comin’. (And the wife won’t let me change it, because she’s developed a crush on the weather dork.)

This sucker is NOT MOVING AT ALL, is it? Good luck, Solly. I hope she moves over you soon and picks up some speed, but I doubt it. Thing’s just sitting there.

    snorkles at the ready?

Dayum, nothing like a little antici … pation, eh? I hope you all stay safe and dry. I’m a bit of a weather junkie so I’m glued to the weather channel, but even I’m getting bored with how often they repeat the same things over and over and over ad nauseum. *eyeroll*

  4. zee says:

she is moving so slow it seems hard to measure it’s speed -the news now printed on the TV screen reads ‘drifting’.

    sheesh.

  5. Linkmeister says:

My prescription? Turn on ESPN and watch football. When it starts to rain, turn back to The Weather Channel.

    Stay safe!

  6. SgtGrump says:

Solonor doesn’t have an UPS? Jeesh, all three of my PC’s have UPS.

My question is what type of character are you going to play in Marvel Super Hero’s tonite?

And do you have enough Cheeze-its?

  8. David July says:

    Which weather dork?

  9. Sunidesus says:

That, as we in the “biz” call it, is known as a “weather woody”. When the weather types are all whipped into a frenzy because they finally have something to do.

  10. nefarious says:

It’s great that you get to enjoy such a fine weather event to it’s fullest extent with the 3-day weekend and all. 😉

  11. Lisa says:

LMAO at “weather woody”. Perfectly apropos.

  12. Never Mind…..

Looks like we'll be using that Blogging Emergency System after all. Sarasota's experiencing heavy rain and wind, so Kat's power could disappear at any time. Sounds like the whole damn state's electric is either off or flickering. …
