When the going gets tough, the tough bake cookies!

Mmmm… cookies…

Yep, with Hurricane Frances crawling like a crippled monkey slowly heading towards us, the womenfolk are in the kitchen baking cookies. Why not? Gotta keep up your strength in a crisis.

Check out Metroblogging Orlando for other perspectives from my fellow Orlandoeans.

Since I finished whatever preparations we’re going to make for Frances, and everything is closed today, I decided to whip up another tune before packing away the instruments and stuff.

This lame attempt at Dylan joins the ranks of the other musical monstrosities that can be found under the category mysteriously called Tunes.

Very nice. I do like it.

Sounds more Harrison-ish than Dylan to me, but either way, I dig it.

Is that a harp at the end of the song? That’s new to your repitiore, ain’t it?

Anyhow, keep it up. It sounds great.

  2. Solonor says:

Eh. It was a quickie (sort of).

Yeah, I heard the Harrison version before the Dylan original, so it stuck in my head more. And Emily recently found a whole bunch of Dad’s old harmonicas. So, I thought I’d toss one into the mix for the hell of it.

So what kind of cookes are they?

*wanders off towards the kitchen in search of something yummy to eat*

  4. Ric The Schmuck says:

Very cool. Glad you added the harp.

The slide sounds good, too. If that’s really a slide, or some effect to make it seem that way…
It sure sounds like a slide guitar to me. That’s what makes it sound more like Harrison.

    And that’s a good thing.

  5. Solonor says:

It’s my own bad slide playing. No effects needed.

  6. Ric The Schmuck says:

    It ain’t bad, silly.

I just don’t assume anything about what I hear anymore. What with my damaged ears, and the gee-whiz stuff the electronics and recording equipment can do these days…

    Like it, I do.

  7. Solonor says:

Did I say “bad”? I meant “bad ass”. Yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket…

  8. Karan says:

Lester and Dylan…Dylan and Lester. Hooha!

  9. Cableman says:

    Once again, I am impressed!
A nice respit from the preparations for Frances. Hope for the best for all of the Rasreths, and all of the rest of us too.
