I said WTF too, until I really thought about it. He was playing to win before Mendoza came in. It was actually a good “all or nothing” strategy. The bad part is you don’t have him for tonight…but then again, the yanks probably don’t have mendoza either.

He had another WTF moment last night when he didn’t bring Mirabelli in to catch Wakefield. I can understand leaving Varitek in to bat, but after he batted, he trotted back out there for a second juggling act!
