Not bird nor plane nor even frog

It’s been a while since I checked out The Home of the Underdogs, but an e-mail from Sgt. Grump today reminded about it. He found a copy of Axis and Allies: Iron Blitz Edition there.

HOTU is the best abandonware site on the Internet (though I think they prefer to be called a “software museum.”) They have features on games going back to 1979’s Computer Quarterback from SSI and as recent as 2002’s Sid Meier’s SimGolf. All of them include user ratings and may have won the coveted “Top Dog” award.

You can get lost just browsing the collection–assuming you’re an old fart like me who remembers these games. But, of course, the best part is that you can download most of them… or, if you just lost the manual, you can probably get a PDF copy there. At least they’ll tell you where you can find these gems.

Yeah, I have half a partition just for their games. Good stuff.
