Pop or Filter?

Metapop is a collaborative weblog, where the users can post links and comments. I signed up for it immediately, because it sounded like a nifty idea. Now, I am wondering, how is it any different from Metafilter?

    I’m not dissing it. I seriously want to know how it’s unique. There are some great people behind it, so I know I’m just missing something. (Hoping one of them will pop in here an ‘splain it to me…)
