Sneaky Little Buggers

Read carefully the next coupon you get. According to Snopes, the rumors that telemarketers are trying to circumvent the Do Not Call Registry by hiding a little “It’s ok if this guy calls me” agreement in the fine print are true.

The second day it was available, we signed onto the registry and noted that the following were exempt from the Do Not Call:

    Credit card companies
    Banking institutions
    Phone companies

The very ones that make life unpleasant. And what’s more is this…

Before we signed up, we received about 3-4 unwanted solicitation calls a day. We are now receiving 15-25 unwanted solicitation calls a day!!!!

We have to let the answering machine pick-up now.

I think telemarketers and scammers are thieves. They steal free advertising and give you nothing in return.

And now, to be scheming like this to get around the DO NOT CALL List.

I don’t know… it’s like spammers who send more spam to people who try to unsubscribe… or telemarketing companies who try to get around the zapper… WHY would they want to waste their time calling people who are obviously not interested??????
