Gee. No…Gmail!

Thanks to my adopted daughter Kat, I am now one of the cool kids with a gmail account. Just in time for Father’s Day!

I’ll leave it up to you to guess what the account name is. Just remember that “Solonor” is not exactly a common name… not likely to be taken already, if you know what I’m sayin’?

Note to self

Dear almost-42-year-old-body,

I would appreciate it if you would stop falling down.

I understand that the bathtub is slippery, so I’ll excuse that one (just try not to crack your head open when no one is home, m’kay?). But did you have to have your ankle go out from under you for no apparent reason, leaving you to crash to the parking lot asphalt like you’d just had a seizure of some kind? And in front of several co-workers and an oncoming car?? Pardon me, but that’s just stupid.

Thanks for listening. Hey, at least you still have your hearing… for now…

Mac has moved from Go Fish to pesky’apostrophe. And yet, somehow, she’s still all wet. ;p

And, um, yeah…

I am ashamed of my lack of vision. I never considered what would happen if someone put Office Space together with Star Wars.

Finding Dana

I’ve decided that I have never had the fun of “stealing” blogs…. so why not start with now? Actually…. I started calling this a Scavenger Blog Hunt…. but now, I’m on to “Finding Dana”… who knows where the madness will stop!

My idea is if you comment here….. I’ll “pop” into your blog and then from those that comment on your blog…. I’ll “pop” in one of those blogs…. maybe throughout the week-end….. What do you say? Want to have a blog scavenger hunt? Are you willing to trust me with the keys to your blog for a “moment”?

April Winchell is God

I think I’ve said before that when I get stuck for something interesting to post, I run screaming to April Winchell’s LiNkApAl00zA. (You can thank one of her contributors for that “Big John, Little John” thing.) *shudder*

But for whatever reason, I never wandered past the kooky links list until tonight. Tonight, I discovered April Winchell: Multimedia.

I am April’s worship monkey.

If you haven’t already clicked on the link and begun to experience the joys of April, here are some of the highlights of the multimedia collection:

Birthday Songs – “birthday songs that will make you wish you’d never been born” like “Happy Birthday from The Smurfs” (a hip-hop rap version, no less)

Corporate Music – “music by companies for companies” like “Keep Your Restrooms Clean, Men” from the Red Lion Gasoline Company and “What is this thing called Amway?”

KFC Employee Training Tapes – like “Bacteria” (Larry and Gary chat about salmonella) and “The Talking Chicken” (Darlene the Chicken wishes she were good enough to be killed and battered).

Those Darn Homos! – “Bizarre propaganda from the 50’s”

TV Stars Who Insist On Singing – Includes everyone from Richard Dawson, Telly Savalas, Jerry Springer and, of course, Leonard Nimoy.

Beatles Covers – by everyone from The Chipmunks to The Brady Bunch

Stairway to Heaven – an entire section devoted to “Stairway to Heaven” covers… there’s one by Dolly Parton… and another by Pat Boone! *faint*

Chicken Songs – “I don’t know why, all right?”

Terrifying Christian Recordings – “Amazing Grace” by Donald Duck?

And much, much, much more!

If you’re still reading this, you obviously have more willpower than I gave you credit for. Your resistance to strange and wonderful recordings is strong. I respect that. (Not really. I’m just trying to butter you up for some reason, even though you are obviously a person who does not appreciate the finer things in life.)

Big John, Little John

For the person who made me remember Big John, Little John: I keel you!

It blowed up real good

Today was an adventure. My work PC went *poof*. Literally. I’ve never heard a PC go *poof* like in a cartoon. The power supply zapped the whole thing as it was booting up. Fried the motherboard and trashed the hard drive.

Good thing I don’t do anything productive on that PC…
