No Escape

If you troll your referrer logs, like I do, looking to see what intelligent people have paid you a visit, you may have run across this little gem: Mastodonte Referrer Advertising.

Yes, for a mere $1000, you can send spam into the referral logs of thousands of innocent victims. Joy.

Au Revoir Montreal

OK, a little break from the baseball strike I’m on for this tidbit: NY Daily News – Expos Looking Fenway Way.

Hey, it’s a win-win! Just ask the dipwads at MLB. “The Red Sox get the benefit of the extra revenue, the Expos get a great place to play where people will come out to see them and Boston fans get to see National League baseball again.”

For you season ticket holders in Montreal, they say: Mordez-moi, Montreal!

My Blogparent Can Beat Up Your Blogparent

I make light of things. That’s what I get paid the big bucks to do. (Anyone not paid up by the end of the month is getting their privileges revoked….you know who I’m talking about…)

Anyway, since I am currently in the position of simultaneously making light of the LGF / MSNBC brouhaha AND signing on as a LGF Supporter AND being critical of the anti-Idiotarian-namecalling-that-passes-for-debate on blogs like LGF, I thought I’d better clarify things…especially after reading wKenShow: Children Behave!

Synchronicity Happens (or Great Minds Think Alike)

This kind of synchronistic happenstance (or harmonic convergence) is a regular feature of my life. This morning, I got a ping from couchblog on (what else) the infamous monkey post. I’m thinking, “Boy I hope he/she has a lot of English-speaking readers.” Even so, I can barely translate the humor of “looking for some bacon fat and other delectable goodies” into ENGLISH, much less German or some other language.

In any case, coincidence (or a psychic disturbance in the Force) struck when I read ***Dave :: Lost in the translation. Here, Dave adds a new toy to his blog–the AltaVista Babelfish translator. This is the perfect example of the right tool at the right time!

[ The preceding, of course, is my way of saying “See? I didn’t just put this thing here, because Dave did.” ]

Monkey Proliferation

What in the name of Grape Ape is going on?

Have we finally realized our Darwinian heritage, admitting that we are merely follically-challenged apes? Are we too busy singing to put anybody down? Are we, like Sea-Monkeys, “…real Time-Travelers asleep in biological time capsules for their strange journey into the future”?

These questions need answers. Fortunately, Glenn Frazier ignores them altogether and presents his own monkey madness.

[ So, if we trackback on a trackback and that trackback tracks back to another trackback, can we eventually backtrack our way into an infinite loop? How much back could a trackback track, if a trackback could track back? ]

wKenShow: Is this free speech or evil incarnate?

I have received several dozen e-mails asking me to remove wKenShow from my Daily Reads blogroll. Um…okay, it was only one….and it was from wKen…but that is totally beside the point! wKenShow is the most vile piece of garbage this side of Britney Spears.com (Welcome all you Britney fans from Google. Love ya. Mean it.)

So, I ask you: Is wKen and his famed Orgasmatron a witty look at the life of a single lawyer in America? Or is it something darker?

I await your response.

[ There ya go, Ken. Worked for LGF! The hits oughta start rollin’ in now. ]

At Least Something’s Valid Around Here!

I guess this is cool. I don’t know. But the Ink Well now validates as RSS 1.0 and RSS 2.0.

[ Thanks to Ginger for the reminder. ]

Update (10/25): For some reason, the RSS 2.0 validator says I’m not anymore…yet, the Userland Validator says I am. I still don’t know if I care. Though I did put up the spiffy button!

Update Update: I found the reason. When I went to post the story about the Expos moving to Boston, I foolishly used the French version of Montreal–accente et all. Apparently, that’s a non-non.
