After prolonged negotiations Erebor agreed to ship 25-year old LHP Oong-cheon Ansótegui and $10,360,000 in cash to Dol Guldur for 21-year old minor league RF Smarluk Ogredragger and 22-year old minor league LHP Primrose Headstrong. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups.
“It took longer than expected,” said one GM, “but we knew that the deal was going to happen.”
This year, Ansótegui has collected no saves in 11 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 6-1 won-lost mark with a 3.17 ERA and fanned 69 batters in 65.1 innings. Opponents are hitting him at a .226 clip in 2051.
