The Minas Morgul Slayers powered past the visiting Lothlorien Lumberjacks, 4-3, in the opener of the Hobbit Series at Sylvan Cove today. Minas Morgul starting pitcher Ugduk Fistripper threw 7.2 innings allowing 3 runs, to lead the charge. The Slayers now lead the series 1-0.
Rose Brown aided the Minas Morgul cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.
“I made some pitches when I had to,” said Fistripper.
Game 2 is scheduled for Friday at Celebrant Field in Caras Galadhon.
