With catcher Alrond *Hubbard, Jr. leading the charge, the Old Forest Merry Fellows got a road win over the Bywater Bounders, 5-4, in Game 2 of the Hobbit Series today. *Hubbard, Jr. went 2-2 with 2 home runs, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice at The Water Park to help Old Forest force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series.
*Hubbard, Jr. had a big at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth inning. With his team down, 4-2, the catcher hit a 3-run home run to put Old Forest ahead.
“We’re obviously playing with a lot of confidence,” said Old Forest manager Borigal Bridger.
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Shire Greens Stadium.
