Taking a break from NaNoWriMo insanity for a little Monday Mission action.
Now you know why I never started this stupid thing! Argh!! Two days with tons of time to write, and all I get out is THIS. I like it and all, but I’ll never make 50,000 words at this pace….sigh…
Will anyone else that’s on the NaNoWriMo train, please comment here and let me know? We got our own little blogger writing group going here, it looks like. I guess because I was in denial about wanting to do it, I must have ignored y’all when you said you signed up. At least, I think that’s why I just realized that bran is doing it, too.
So far, I know her and Scott and Miguel and stupid are in.
Are you?
Not much progress made on the word count, but the prologue for my NaNoWriMo novel is up.
[ Word count = 672, ick. ]
Yes, dammit-all-to-freaking-hell, that is the NaNoWriMo Participant symbol you see on my blog. I signed up (late, of course) to stop those frickin’ voices in my head. Now, if they’ll just shut up and let me write!
I will put daily excerpts of the carnage at https://solonor.com/novel/
I know that most anyone who reads my blog already knows to go and vote for Michele as the most hawkish and “bloody-hungry” warblogger around. However, I did not read the fine print. You can vote up to five times from each IP address you can get your hands on. Go there. Now. Before she hurts you (or me).
I am calling on my minion(s) for you, Michele. I hope you appreciate it.
We wish you a Happy Halloween!
We wish you a Happy Halloween!
We wish you a Happy Halloween!
And don’t break your foot!
Yes, she of “the Girl Scouts went to Williamsburg and all I got was this lousy cast” fame has done it again. Pepperkat’s broken her foot (her fourth metatarsal, actually). Skateboarding. Right before trick-or-treating.
The worst part is listening to the pitiful whine. See, we just had this big “discussion” about her being too old to go begging for candy door-to-door without being part of a religious cult. We told her, “This is your last year. Then, it’s debauchery-filled Halloween parties like the rest of your teenage hoodlum friends.” (Of course, just as I wrote that, a couple of 15-year-olds knocked on the door…sigh…) So, naturally, we get to hear about how horrible it is that she missed out on her last real Halloween.
I really don’t understand why she feels the need to go out anyway. I mean, it’s not like we didn’t have a perfectly fun-filled night of Halloweenie goodness planned….stuffing ourselves with pizza and popcorn while watching Theatre of Blood, complete with our own MST3K commentary… Come on! Where’s her head at? Poor baby. 🙁
I try to avoid these things (they’re too addictive), but I couldn’t ignore this one!

It’s All Hallows Eve, and here’s to all the scary freaks out there! They almost caught me in their web of evil. I almost fell for the me-too-itness of it all. But I remain in the light. I will not enter the dark world of NaNoWriMo with them. I will not spend the next 30 days obsessing about how I’m going to get 50,000 words onto a computer screen in some sort of semi-coherent fashion that many will consider a novel. I will not, will not, will not!
If I keep saying it that way, I might avoid the even dumber move of signing up late and trying to finish in like 20 days…
But big a “you go girl” to the nanowrimonowris Miguel and Scott and all.
Movabletype 2.51 is out. Happy Halloween!
