Tolkien Baseball pundits who figured the Fellowship Series between the Moria Miners and Lake Town Archers would go the distance were right on the mark.
The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Moria coming out on top thanks to a 11-5 win in the deciding game at Lake Town Park, to wrap things up 4-3.
“You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we’re overjoyed to come out on top,” said Miners first baseman Huzhkrut Bonedragger, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Bonedragger had 8 hits for a .320 average. He had 3 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Moria Miners will play against the Rivendell Royals in the next round. Rivendell won their series against the Old Forest Merry Fellows 4 games to 2. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.
