It was a day for the record books for Dead Marshes Uruk-hai shortstop Ugak *the Masher, who walloped three out of Uruk-hai Field against the Hops. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Hops from getting the 9-7 victory.
“We threw some good pitches and they hit ’em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit ’em. That’s a good strategy for losing ballgames,” Dead Marshes skipper Mikee the German joked after the loss.
*the Masher still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 3-for-5 for the day, batting in 5 runs and scoring 3 times.
“I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs,” *the Masher said. “I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time.”
Ugak *the Masher grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chae-ku Ogura in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chae-ku Ogura in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Skorbosh Earthcrawler in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
*the Masher is hitting .346 for the season with 10 home runs, 22 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has 47 hits in 136 at-bats and played in 37 games.
