It was supposed to be just another day at the ballpark, but it didn’t turn out that way for Borg Orebiter. Orebiter found out he was being let go in a meeting with the Misty Mountain owner and general manager.
After the meeting concluded, team officials formally announced the firing. They declined to comment on who his successor might be, saying only that it would be done quickly.
“Borg Orebiter is a good baseball man and classy individual, but we don’t think he’s the best person to lead this ballclub at this time,” said Hops general manager RJW. “We wish him all the best in the future.”
Orebiter, whose in-game decisions have drawn a lot of criticism from local media of late, left the ballpark immediately after the meeting and could not be reached for comment.
